We run a number of kids' clubs at the Climbing Station. Through these sessions young people are coached to become skilled and enthusiastic climbers with a life-long love of the sport. We do not require previous experience and you needn't book multiple sessions so you're welcome to come along and see if you enjoy it. We have a maximum ratio of 1 instructor to 6 kids to ensure quality sessions; so please book your place in advance so we can ensure we have enough instructors.
Our Gibbon Club is a regular session run for young climbers aged 7-12. We teach kids both bouldering and roped climbing in a fun and fully supervised environment.
The sessions are run by qualified climbing coaches who aim to teach the children movement skills, assist their progression and pass their enthusiasm for climbing on to the kids.
We run two climbing qualifications at the Station, NICAS and NIBAS. Entry onto these schemes are just £4 and £6 respectively and we will endevour to help all kids enrolled on these schemes to gain their awards.
The Gibbon club is just £12 per session
The Station Academy is a session for young people aged 12 and above. Like the Gibbon Club our coaches will teach climbing technique, help them to progress their personal climbing and develop a love of climbing.
As with the Gibbons, our coaches can take the kids through the NICAS and NIBAS climbing qualifications if they wish to enrol on these.
The Academy is run on the following days and times:
Saturdays 1pm - 2.30pm
The Station Academy costs just £12 a session.
